Diesel Technology: Home

Resources for repair and maintenance of diesel trucks

Introduction

Diesel engines have been described as powerful and efficient.  They can be large or small and are found in planes, trains, and automobiles. At one time they powered mighty fighting ships and submarines. From factory to farm to armed forces to hospitals they can be used anywhere and in many different ways.

Working with diesel equipment takes an understanding of the fuel, and technology associated with it.  The diesel technologist today needs to be fluent with such terms as: bio-diesel, turbo-charging, and clean diesel.  They have to be familiar with everything from electronic systems, hydraulics,  braking systems to power trains.  The US Labor Department estimates that the diesel technology field will expand by 12% by 2024.
