Resources for repair and maintenance of diesel trucks

CTC-Industrial Technology - Diesel

These programs are designed for students who wish to pursue a career in the diesel repair field. They are taught using a "systems" approach (engines, power trains, hydraulics, etc.) which would allow the student to enter any one of the many separate fields of diesel repair (trucks/transportation construction equipment, agriculture, etc.). They provide entry-level, industry-validated, hands-on training in diesel service and repair using the latest technologies in diesel systems, tools and equipment. Studies include shop operations, tools and equipment, engine fundamentals, electrical and electronic systems, mechanical and electronic fuel systems, auxiliary systems, power trains (automatic and standard), hydraulics, engine rebuild, cylinder head service, diagnostics and tune-up, brake systems (air and ABS), steering and suspension, welding and A/C systems (certificate program only).

The Diesel Engine Mechanic and Repairer AAS degree programs include additional academic courses. The technical content of both programs is basically the same. Diesel specialization (rebuilder, power trains, hydraulics, etc.) or update training is available in either program. These programs will prepare the student to take the Medium/Heavy Truck ASE certification tests. Interactive computer-aided training is used to enhance some courses.

You must see a Skills Center Counselor before enrollment.
